Aguas Calientes (El Burriño)

Aguas Calientes at El Burriño, located in the Roboré region of Bolivia's Santa Cruz department, are silica-rich hot springs emerging in the lowland Chiquitano dry forest, a landscape dramatically different from the high-altitude thermal sites more commonly associated with Bolivia. The siliceous waters, filtered through ancient volcanic rock, emerge at a pleasant bathing temperature and have been used by local communities for generations as a natural spa in an otherwise remote corner of eastern Bolivia. El Burriño's springs offer travellers a rare chance to combine thermal bathing with exploration of the Chiquitano forest and its unique Jesuit Mission heritage.
