Termas de Sajama, located near the foot of Bolivia's highest peak, Nevado Sajama (6,542 m), within Sajama National Park, are sulfated geothermal springs emerging on the high altiplano at over 4,200 metres above sea level. The springs are set amid one of Bolivia's most spectacular landscapes, where snow-capped volcanoes, vast dry grasslands, and ancient Aymara communities coexist, and the geothermal activity is a surface expression of the volcanic chain underlying this section of the Andes. Visitors combine soaking in Sajama's warm sulfurous pools with trekking, climbing, and observing the unique high-altitude ecosystem of the Sajama plateau.
