Relaxing — deep, immediate muscle release.
Loaded with major ions — the essential minerals (Ca, Mg).
Soft water — natural, classic buoyancy.
Lussier Hot Springs lie within Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia, accessible from the Kootenay River valley by a gravel forest road that passes through prime elk and bear country. These calcium-rich natural springs, set beside the fast-moving Lussier River, are among the most pristine roadside hot spring experiences in the Canadian Rockies' western ranges — formed by a series of natural rock pools that descend in temperature as they approach the cold river.
The calcium-rich water emerges at 43 °C from the main source, cooling progressively through a cascade of terraced pools to where it meets the Lussier River's cold current. A pH of 7.4, close to neutral, gives the water a clean, well-balanced mineral character. The calcium-heavy composition lends a slight hardness typical of Kootenay geological springs. The surrounding scenery — dense spruce and fir, the sound of whitewater, the peaks of the Canadian Selkirks overhead — elevates a soak here into something genuinely memorable: hot water, cold river, wild mountains.
