Jīng yīng Wēnquán

Jīng Yīng Wēnquán — 'Elite' or 'Essence Hot Spring' — is a naturally sulphurous geothermal spring in China, its name evoking the concept of distilled essence — the most refined and potent element extracted from a larger whole — applied to mineral spring water as a way of expressing the concentrated mineral richness and exceptional therapeutic efficacy of this particular spring. In Chinese classical medicine, the concept of jing (essence) is one of the Three Treasures of human vitality, and hot springs bearing this name are implicitly positioned as sources of the most essential, life-sustaining mineral energy.
