The Market Colonnade (Tržní kolonáda) in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, is an ornate Swiss chalet-style wooden colonnade built in 1883 and housing two of the city's famous thermal springs — the Charles IV Spring and the Market Spring — both dispensing bicarbonate thermal water at the heart of the spa quarter. Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), a founding member of the Great Spa Towns of Europe UNESCO World Heritage Site, built its international reputation on a series of elegant spring colonnades strung along the Teplá River valley, each a masterpiece of nineteenth-century resort architecture. The Market Colonnade's carved wooden architecture, distinctive among Karlovy Vary's mostly neo-baroque stone structures, makes it one of the most photographed and beloved landmarks of this globally celebrated Czech spa city.
