Watzmann Therme in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, offers what is widely considered the most spectacular mountain panorama of any thermal facility in Germany — outdoor pools with unobstructed views of the Watzmann massif (2,713 m) and the surrounding peaks of the Berchtesgaden National Park, Germany's only Alpine national park. The chloride-sodium mineral water, drawn from deep saline wells, is warmed to therapeutic temperatures and channelled into indoor and outdoor pools where guests soak while watching Alpine clouds drift across the limestone faces of the Berchtesgaden Alps.
