Thermalsolbad Bad Soden-Allendorf in the Werra-Meißner district of Hesse sits within a remarkable salt landscape — the geological salt dome of the Werra valley has made this area a centre of salt extraction and brine therapy for centuries, and a historic Gradierwerk (salt-evaporation structure) in the centre of town is a protected cultural monument.
