Hammam N'Bails (Aquae Thiblitanae)

Hammam N'Bails, known in antiquity as Aquae Thiblitanae, is a historic thermal site in the Constantine wilaya of northeastern Algeria where bicarbonate-rich hot spring water was exploited by the Romans for the thermal baths of the ancient city of Thibillis, the remains of which are still visible near the modern spa facility. The Roman thermae of Aquae Thiblitanae, with their mosaic floors and architectural fragments, testify to the long history of this site's therapeutic use stretching back nearly two millennia. The surrounding northeastern Algerian landscape of the Annaba plain and the Edough massif, rich in ancient ruins, Berber heritage, and the Mediterranean coastal environment of the Gulf of Annaba, provides a deeply historically layered context.
