Cransac-les-Thermes

Cransac-les-Thermes in the Aveyron département of the Massif Central is one of the most geologically remarkable thermal stations in France, drawing from a natural hyperthermia unique in Europe, where the underground combustion of carbonaceous shale beds at depth produces dry heat and warm gas emanations used in atmospheric thermal experiences within a long thermal tradition, without the conventional liquid spring water that defines most other French thermal stations.
