Lake Abhe Hot Springs sit near Lake Abhe, in Djibouti's Dikhil district, amid a striking landscape of limestone chimneys. The iron-rich water, pH 6.3, feeds indoor and outdoor baths, with a sauna and massage also available.

Insider tip — Lake Abhe (Lac Abbé) is a spectacular salt lake on the Djibouti-Ethiopia border, dotted with steaming limestone chimneys up to 50 m tall. The hot iron-rich springs along the lakeshore are part of an active geothermal zone of the Afar Depression. It is one of the strangest, wildest landscapes in the Horn of Africa.
