Baños De Vilo

Baños de Vilo is a sulfurous spring bathing site near Periana in the Axarquía comarca of Málaga province, Andalusia, Spain, set in the mountainous interior of the Málaga hinterland 58 km from the coastal capital in a landscape of subtropical fruit orchards, olive groves, and limestone sierras typical of eastern Andalusia's inland terrain. The sulfurous waters emerge from the geological contact zones between limestone and schist in the Baetic mountains, a geological setting common to many of Andalusia's most prized mineral springs, and have served the rural communities of the Axarquía for generations. The site offers traditional sulfurous spring bathing in a tranquil mountain setting far from the tourist infrastructure of the Costa del Sol, embodying the authentic Andalusian rural thermal tradition.
