Al Hima hotsprings, in the same Al-Mukhayba area (Irbid governorate, Jordan), taps bicarbonate and sodium-chloride water at 40°C (pH 8). An indoor bath, a rotenburo-style outdoor bath, a sauna and massage round out the offering.
Insider tip — Al-Hima Hot Springs on the Yarmouk River at Al-Mukhayba, northern Jordan — one of the oldest documented thermal springs in the Middle East, used since Roman antiquity. The alkaline Cl-HCO₃ waters (changing seasonally from carbonate to bicarbonate-dominated) emerge on the Jordanian side of springs shared with Hamat Gader (Israel/Syria). Water is mildly radioactive (4.9 nCi/L Rn-222), used for rheumatism, circulatory disorders, respiratory conditions and gynaecological issues. The Roman city of Gadara (Umm Qais) overlooks the Yarmouk gorge 8 km north.
