SoufreSulfuresSulfates
This sulfurous spring is located in the Tskaltubo area, Samegrelo Region, Georgia, a district historically associated with thermal waters. The water, around 38°C, feeds indoor pools with a sauna.
Insider tip — This sulfurous hydrogen-sulfide spring — 'Serovodorodnyy istochnik' in Russian — emerges on the western flank of the Caucasus near Senaki in Georgia's Samegrelo region, where tectonic uplift drives warm mineralised water to the surface. The coordinates place it close to the Black Sea lowlands, a geologically active corridor between the Greater and Lesser Caucasus ranges. Simple open-air bathing in the sulfurous pool remains the local tradition, far removed from the grand Soviet-era sanatoriums of nearby Tskaltubo.
