Lesbos Eftalou thermal

The Eftalou thermal springs on the northern coast of Lesbos island in the Aegean Sea are among the most scenically situated natural hot springs in Greece, where warm bicarbonate waters emerge from volcanic vents directly along a pebbled shoreline with views toward the Turkish coast. The domed Ottoman-era bathhouse at Eftalou, constructed in the early 20th century over the original spring, is still in use and retains a beautifully preserved traditional character that provides an atmospheric contrast to the vivid blue of the surrounding sea. The waters, emerging at around 40–45°C, are prized for their skin-softening and anti-rheumatic properties, and bathing in the simple stone pool while the Aegean stretches out before you is one of the most memorable thermal experiences in the Greek islands. Lesbos's rich cultural landscape — olive groves, Byzantine monasteries, petrified forest — surrounds Eftalou and deepens the appeal of this exceptional coastal thermal site.
