Rajapur Hot Springs are natural geothermal springs in the Ratnagiri district of coastal Maharashtra, India, emerging from the Deccan Traps basalt geology on the Konkan Coast — the narrow fertile coastal strip between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea — where bicarbonate thermal waters have been valued within the long bathing traditions of coastal Maharashtra for generations. The Konkan coast of Ratnagiri district is famous as the home of the Alphonso mango, considered the king of mangoes and one of India's most prized agricultural products, as well as the birthplace of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, one of the foremost leaders of the Indian independence movement. The spring bathing of Rajapur exists within a coastal landscape of extraordinary natural and historical richness, where the Western Ghats UNESCO World Heritage biodiversity, Maratha coastal fort heritage, and the legendary Konkan mango culture create one of Maharashtra's most distinctive regional identities.

Insider tip — Rajapur hot springs emerge along the Konkan coastal strip, just a few kilometers from the Arabian Sea, making them unusual among Indian geothermal sites for their low elevation and humid coastal setting. Local legend ties the springs to the Hindu deity Lakshmi and they draw regional pilgrims throughout the year. The water temperature is mild enough for extended soaks. Rajapur town is well connected by bus from Ratnagiri, gateway to the Alphonso mango country.
