Rajapur Hot Springs

Rajapur Hot Springs are natural geothermal springs in the Ratnagiri district of coastal Maharashtra, India, emerging from the Deccan Traps basalt geology on the Konkan Coast — the narrow fertile coastal strip between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea — where bicarbonate thermal waters have been valued within the long bathing traditions of coastal Maharashtra for generations. The Konkan coast of Ratnagiri district is famous as the home of the Alphonso mango, considered the king of mangoes and one of India's most prized agricultural products, as well as the birthplace of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, one of the foremost leaders of the Indian independence movement.
