Guðrúnarlaug is a reconstructed thermal pool located in the municipality of Dalabyggð, about 20 km from Búðardalur, in Iceland. This modern reconstruction is inspired by an ancient pool in the Sælingsdalur valley, mentioned in the Laxdæla saga and the Sturlunga saga as the oldest of its kind in Iceland. The original, buried by a landslide in the nineteenth century, was renowned within a long thermal tradition; the present version, faithful to the spirit of the original, is accompanied by a shelter for visitors.
