Lurisia is a small mountain spa in the Maritime Alps of Piedmont, near the French border, where bicarbonate and naturally radioactive (radon) spring waters were first analysed in 1917 and found to contain a level of natural radioactivity placing them among the most notable radium springs in Europe. The Lurisia mineral water brand, commercially bottled and distributed throughout Italy since 1939, originates from this single Alpine source, making a visit to the original spring in the mountains a direct encounter with one of Italy's most iconic mineral water origins. The spa complex is embedded in the Maritime Alps at 700 metres, surrounded by chestnut forests and the mountain landscape of the Ligurian-Piedmontese border, creating a natural backdrop of exceptional scenic quality for a relaxing soak in the radon and bicarbonate mineral waters.
