Centro Benessere Acque Albule, located at Bagni di Tivoli just twenty kilometres from Rome, draws on the Acquae Albulae — the same sulfurous springs that Roman emperors Augustus and Hadrian used to soothe their ailments some two thousand years ago. The hydrogen-sulfide-rich waters, among the most famous in the ancient world, emerge at around 23°C and are used in balneotherapy, inhalations, and mud treatments for musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions. Today the site has grown into one of Lazio's largest thermal parks, where visitors can bathe in the same waters that once refreshed the masters of the Roman Empire.
