Bullicame is a striking natural geothermal spring just outside the walls of Viterbo in northern Lazio, central Italy, so famous historically that Dante Alighieri referenced it in the Divine Comedy. The boiling sulfurous pool bubbles continuously at temperatures exceeding 58°C, surrounded by white travertine deposits formed by millennia of mineral precipitation. Long part of a thermal tradition in Viterbo's medieval community, Bullicame today is a protected geothermal site and a remarkable open-air spectacle of primordial geology in the heart of Etruria.
