Takamatsu Onsen Akita

Takamatsu Onsen Akita is a popular urban hot spring in Akita City, the prefectural capital of Akita Prefecture on the Japan Sea coast of northern Tohoku, a city celebrated for its extraordinary summer festival traditions — particularly the Kanto Matsuri, in which performers balance towering bamboo poles hung with dozens of lanterns on their foreheads, shoulders, and backs in a breathtaking act of balance and endurance recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
