Dogominami Onsen is a thermal facility in the southern reaches of the historic Dogo onsen district of Matsuyama city, Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku Island, offering access to the same ancient siliceous geothermal system that feeds the legendary Dogo Honkan — Japan's oldest continuously operating hot spring, documented since the 6th century CE. The Dogo geothermal field produces soft, alkaline siliceous waters at a neutral pH that are prized for their gentle skin-softening properties and the profound muscular relaxation they induce, characteristics that have made Dogo's springs the object of imperial devotion and literary celebration for over 1,400 years.
