Joso Onsen

Joso Onsen is located in Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture, on the western bank of the Kinu River in the southern Ibaraki lowlands, a city formed from the merger of Mitsukaido and Ishige towns that preserves within its bounds the historic Minago Shuku post town — a waypoint on the ancient Mito Kaido highway connecting Edo to the Mito Domain, whose architectural heritage of traditional inn buildings reflects the commercial vitality of Tokugawa-era road culture.
