Yokohama Tsurumi Onsen

Yokohama Tsurumi Onsen is a community thermal facility in Tsurumi Ward in northern Yokohama, a historically significant industrial and immigrant community where Kawasaki Steel and Toshiba's foundational factories were established in the early Meiji period and where significant Korean and other Asian immigrant communities have shaped a vibrant multicultural neighborhood culture documented in the ward's festivals, food culture, and the nearby Sojiji—one of the two head temples of the Soto Zen school of Japanese Buddhism, whose sprawling complex is a significant center of Japanese religious practice.
