Itabashi Onsen

Itabashi Onsen is a community thermal facility in Itabashi Ward in northern Tokyo, a historically significant ward whose name—meaning 'board bridge'—recalls the wooden bridge that made this point on the Shakujii River a crucial waypoint on the Nakasendo highway connecting Edo with Kyoto, making Itabashi-juku one of the first post towns encountered by travelers leaving the shogunate capital for the western provinces.
