Yaga Station is a passenger railway station located in the southern part of the town of Yamakita, Kanagawa, Japan, operated by Central Japan Railway Company. Initially primarily a freight station, used to transport firewood and charcoal from the Tanzawa Mountains, Yaga Station now serves only passenger traffic to nearby Lake Tanzawa and the Nakagawa onsen resorts.

Insider tip — Yamakita town lies at the southern gateway to the Tanzawa-Oyama Quasi-National Park, where silica-mineral water wells up at 42°C beneath forested ridges above the Sakawa River. The onsen is popular among long-distance hikers finishing the Tanzawa loop trail, who descend directly to the baths by forest path. Water clarity is excellent and the silica content gives a characteristic smooth mouthfeel on skin contact. The local specialty is a hearty mountain-vegetable soup served in the adjacent restaurant.
