Uchinada Onsen

Uchinada Onsen serves a coastal town famous in Ishikawa Prefecture for its extraordinary sand dune system — the Uchinada Dunes, one of the largest areas of active coastal sand on the Japan Sea coast — whose wind-sculpted ridges of pale sand running parallel to the shore create a dramatic landscape reminiscent of the more famous Tottori Sand Dunes but in a more intimate and accessible setting that allows visitors to walk the dune crests above the Japan Sea and look south toward the Noto Peninsula stretching into the gray winter sea.
