Samani Onsen Hokkaido

Samani Onsen Hokkaido is a coastal hot spring in Samani Town in the Hidaka Subprefecture of southern Hokkaido, a small fishing community on the Pacific coast near Cape Erimo whose rocky shoreline, cold Pacific currents, and the dramatic silhouette of the windswept Erimo headland create one of Hokkaido's most scenically dramatic and meteorologically intense coastal landscapes, where fierce Pacific storms regularly roll in from the open ocean to batter the exposed cape and the fishing communities that have sustained themselves through generations of Pacific seafood harvesting in some of Japan's most challenging maritime conditions.
