Naoshima I♥yu is a unique public bathhouse on Naoshima island in the Seto Inland Sea, Kagawa Prefecture, designed by celebrated artist Shinro Ohtake as a living artwork and functioning community sento using bicarbonate thermal water in its bathing pools. The interior is an exuberant collage of found objects, recycled materials, vintage imagery, and contemporary art installations that transform the traditional sento experience into an immersive contemporary art encounter.
