Avadj Hot Springs is a natural geothermal site in the Jalal-Abad region of southern Kyrgyzstan, where chloride-rich warm water emerges from the earth in the fertile Fergana valley foothills and is used by local communities for therapeutic bathing. The Kyrgyz thermal spring tradition is embedded in the country's nomadic culture, where natural healing waters have long played a role alongside traditional medicine, kumiss (fermented mare's milk), and herbal remedies. The site's setting in the dramatic Kyrgyz landscape of the Tian Shan foothills, surrounded by walnut forests and mountain pastures, gives it a characteristically Central Asian character.
