Altyn Arashan (Sources thermales)

Altyn Arashan, meaning golden spa in Kyrgyz, is a celebrated natural hot spring resort at the end of the remote Arashan valley in the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan, where radon-sulfate springs emerge at around 45°C in a high mountain environment of glaciated peaks and dense spruce forests at approximately 2,500 metres altitude. The springs, accessible by a challenging 4×4 track or a two-day trek from Karakol, are one of Kyrgyzstan's most beloved high-altitude thermal destinations, with simple guesthouses and outdoor bathing pools set against the backdrop of snow-capped Central Tian Shan summits.
