Abderrahman Lachhab is a Moroccan ferruginous mineral hammam facility providing communal bathing services in the authentic neighbourhood hammam tradition of Morocco. The hammam occupies a unique position in the domestic geography of the Moroccan home: traditionally in urban medinas where private bathing facilities were limited, the neighbourhood hammam served as the collective bathroom of the community, visited regularly by all members of the household on a rotating schedule by gender. Today, even as private facilities have become more common, the hammam retains its social and cultural centrality in Moroccan life.
