Aguas Termales Nuevo Ixtlan

Aguas Termales Nuevo Ixtlan is a natural hot spring resort in the municipality of Ixtlan del Río in Nayarit state, western Mexico, where chloride-mineral thermal waters emerge in the forested volcanic landscape of the Sierra Madre Occidental and have been developed into a bathing facility serving the wellness tourism of the Pacific-slope Mexican interior. The springs are part of the extensive geothermal resources of the Tepic-Zacoalco Rift Zone, one of Mexico's most seismically and volcanically active areas adjacent to the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, and the spring waters are used in communal outdoor pool facilities that reflect the Mexican balneario tradition of family-oriented thermal recreation. The surrounding landscape of Nayarit's pine-oak forests and the cultural heritage of the indigenous Cora and Huichol (Wixáritari) peoples of the Sierra Madre add significant natural and anthropological depth to this thermal site.
