Balneario Municipal Ixtapan de la Sal is the original public thermal resort at Ixtapan de la Sal, a small spa town in the State of Mexico known as the thermal capital of the country, where chloride-saline mineral waters have been exploited since pre-Hispanic Nahua times and formalised into one of Mexico's most established balneario destinations during the 20th century.
