Thermen Bad Nieuweschans is a thermal spa located in the town of Bad Nieuweschans, at the easternmost tip of the Dutch province of Groningen. It was founded in 1985. In 2008, 210,000 people visited the thermal spa. In 2009, the company convinced the municipality of Reiderland at the time to grant the addition of the German term "Bad" to the ancient location name Nieuweschans in order to attract more German spa-goers.

Insider tip — Bourtange, a perfectly preserved 16th-century star fortress set in the Dutch heathland, is one of the finest fortifications in Europe.
