In Saint-Égrève, just outside Grenoble, Les Thermes du Sultan occupies a building with an unlikely past: a former car garage that became a wedding venue and retail space before its transformation into a wellness spa. Originally founded in the nearby town of Rives, the spa moved to this address in February 2019 after rebuilding from a fire that destroyed its reception area in September 2017.
The venue blends two distinct worlds: a traditional Moroccan-style hammam, all mosaics and vaulted ceilings, and a Scandinavian-style chalet built for sauna sessions in a quieter, wood-lined setting. This North-South contrast, between humid oriental warmth and Nordic timber calm, makes it a distinctive stop among Isère's spas, just a short drive from central Grenoble and the surrounding mountains.
