The 'gensen koen' (source park) ashiyu lets visitors soak their feet for free while watching fishing boats on the bay; from here, the Tsugaru Peninsula is visible across the water. Asamushi's smooth sodium-chloride waters are reputedly excellent for skin; the town's most famous former visitor was Osamu Dazai, who wrote here in the 1930s.
