The Ikata-cho Kenko Koryu Shisetsu wellness center, also called Kamegaike Onsen, is located in Ikata, Ehime, on the Sadamisaki Peninsula. Its sodium-chloride water heats to 41°C; an indoor bath, a rotenburo and a sauna complete the facilities.
Insider tip — Kamegaike Onsen, the turtle pond spring, serves Ikata Town on the Sadamisaki Peninsula — the longest and narrowest cape in Japan at 40 kilometres long and just one kilometre wide in places, reaching toward Kyushu across the Bungo Channel. The Ikata Nuclear Power Plant perches on this impossibly slender peninsula, and the Sadamisaki Michi no Eki overlook offers a 360-degree panorama of the Seto Inland Sea and Pacific that is among Japan most dramatic peninsula vistas.
