Túrkeve Termál

Túrkeve Termál is a thermal bathing facility in Túrkeve, a town in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County in central Hungary on the Körös River plain, part of the Great Kunság region — the territory historically inhabited by the Cumans (Kun), the Turkic-speaking steppe nomads who settled the Hungarian plain in 1239 fleeing the Mongol invasion and received special privileges from the Hungarian crown for their military service, maintaining a distinctive cultural identity for centuries in the flat grasslands between the Tisza and Körös rivers. The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, encompassing the former Cumanian settlement territories, draws on the outstanding geothermal artesian water resources of the Pannonian Basin that make Hungary one of Europe's most thermally endowed countries, and Túrkeve's thermal facility participates in this Great Plain thermal heritage alongside the more famous Hajdúszoboszló and Debrecen spa cities to the north.
