Terme Sokobanja

Sokobanja is a well-established spa resort in the Zajecar district of eastern Serbia, set in a mountain valley framed by the Rtanj, Ozren, and Bukovik peaks, whose radon and bicarbonate-rich thermal waters — among the most distinctive in the Balkans — have been part of the local bathing tradition since the Ottoman period. The medieval Sokol (Falcon) towers perched on the rocky spurs above the valley give the town its name and create a dramatic medieval skyline above the modern thermal facilities, evoking the mediaeval Serbian feudal landscape of the 13th and 14th centuries.
