Prolom Banja is a small and relatively isolated highland spa resort in the Kuršumlija municipality of Toplica district in southern Serbia, set in the rugged limestone hills of the Jablanica plateau at an altitude that gives it a notably cool and clean mountain microclimate considered an additional asset alongside its mineral spring waters. The bicarbonate and calcium-rich mineral springs of Prolom Banja have been classified as one of the highest-quality mineral waters in Serbia, with exceptionally low mineral content (oligomineral water) that has long made it a valued part of the regional thermal tradition. The isolated plateau setting, far from major urban centres, gives Prolom Banja an authentically restful character increasingly difficult to find in more commercialised spa destinations. The surrounding Đavolja Varoš (Devil's Town) — a spectacular natural site of over 200 earth pyramids and two highly mineralised reddish springs, a candidate for the New Seven Natural Wonders — creates one of Serbia's most unusual geological tourism attractions immediately adjacent to the thermal spa.

Insider tip — Prolom Banja is Serbia's highest-altitude spa resort, nestled at 620 m in the Radan Mountain wilderness near the Kosovo border. The bicarbonate-calcium waters emerge at 36°C from granite fractures and are among the purest and least mineralized in the Balkans, making them exceptionally gentle for kidney stone prevention and urinary therapy. The surrounding highland landscape of beech and oak forests makes this a genuine nature-immersion retreat far from mass tourism.
