Dammam Hot Springs

Dammam Hot Springs is a natural geothermal site in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia near the largest petroleum-producing region on Earth, where bicarbonate-rich thermal water surfaces from the ancient sedimentary geology of the Arabian Shield along the shores of the Arabian Gulf. The Eastern Province's geological heritage, combining petroleum formation geology with the much older crystalline basement of Arabia, creates a complex subsurface environment that produces occasional thermal spring activity alongside its petroleum resources.
