Termales La Montaña is set in the volcanic uplands near Ahuachapán, in El Salvador's westernmost department, just a short distance from the Guatemalan border and the geothermal fields that power much of the country's electricity. The resort draws on bicarbonate-rich spring water emerging at a pleasant 35 °C, with a slightly alkaline pH of 7.2 that lends the water a particularly soft, skin-friendly quality.
