Kızılcahamam Kaplıcaları

Kızılcahamam Kapliçaları north of Ankara in the Köroğlu mountain range is the most frequented thermal resort for Ankara's population, set at 900 metres altitude in extensive pine forests that provide an immediate sense of escape from the Turkish capital 80 kilometres to the south. The bicarbonate sodium springs, which emerge at 38–41°C, are particularly recommended for cardiovascular, digestive and nervous conditions, and the resort's sanatorium tradition dating from the early Turkish Republic era gives it a more medically serious character than many leisure spa destinations.
