Keough Hot Springs is a developed natural hot spring resort in the Owens Valley of California, situated between the Sierra Nevada and the White Mountains at around 1,200 metres elevation, where lightly mineral oligomineral water at around 40°C feeds outdoor pools in a high desert setting with spectacular mountain views. The resort, one of the Eastern Sierra's most enduring thermal retreats, offers a classic California hot spring experience with the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra's sheer eastern escarpment, including the 4,400-metre peaks above Bishop. The Owens Valley's extraordinary scenic character, combined with nearby natural wonders including the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest and Mono Lake, makes Keough an outstanding Eastern Sierra destination.

Insider tip — Arrive early in the morning at Keough hot springs to enjoy the calm and the oligomineral waters.
