Bastom-Buva is a natural thermal area in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, where bicarbonate- and sodium-rich spring water surfaces from the ancient geological structures of the Pamir-Alai mountain system in a landscape shaped by thousands of years of Silk Road civilisation. The springs are used by local communities for bathing and therapeutic purposes, embedded in the Central Asian tradition of communal mineral water use that has characterised this region since ancient times. The Kashkadarya valley's extraordinary heritage, including the ancient city of Shahrisabz — birthplace of Tamerlane and a UNESCO World Heritage site — provides an incomparably rich cultural backdrop.
