Las Trincheras Hot Springs

Las Trincheras Hot Springs near Valencia in Carabobo state, Venezuela, is one of the world's hottest naturally occurring hot springs, with water emerging at around 96°C from the earth — so hot that local legend holds that an egg can be boiled directly in the spring. The mildly radioactive, radon-bearing thermal waters are among the most celebrated in Venezuela and have been enjoyed since Spanish colonial times within a long thermal bathing tradition. The springs, now developed into a thermal spa resort complex with cooling pools, are located in the coastal mountain zone of Venezuela within easy reach of the industrial city of Valencia and the colonial heritage of the central region.
