Yuhigaura Onsen is a hot spring resort in the Hamaduze area of Amino Town, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture on the Tango Peninsula coast of the Sea of Japan, also known as Hamaduze Yuhi-ga-ura Onsen in the Kyoto Prefecture hot spring register, celebrated especially for its spectacular sunset views over the Japan Sea where the iodine and simple mineral waters of the spring complement an extraordinarily beautiful coastal setting. The Tango Peninsula of northern Kyoto Prefecture is known for its traditional chirimen silk weaving, its dramatic rocky coastline designated as part of the San-in Kinki National Park, and the Amanohashidate sandbar, one of Japan's Three Views, a pine-covered strip of land crossing Miyazu Bay that has been celebrated in Japanese poetry and painting since the Heian period. The coastal hot spring of Yuhigaura, where bathers can watch the sun sink into the Sea of Japan horizon from the warmth of the thermal pools, creates one of the most romantically situated bathing experiences on the Sea of Japan coast of Kyoto Prefecture.
