Yuda Onsenkyo is an unusual thermal destination in Nishiwaga-cho, Iwate Prefecture, where multiple springs are scattered through the Waga River gorge within the Yuda Onsen Peak Prefectural Natural Park—the term onsenkyo (hot spring gorge or peak) being relatively rare and evocative among Japanese resort cluster designations. The bicarbonate, carbonated, and simple waters create a diverse mineral profile across the cluster, with effervescent carbon dioxide springs adding a lively, skin-stimulating effervescence alongside the quieter simple springs of the valley.
