Bolvadin Rüstem Paşa Baths

The Bolvadin Rüstem Paşa Baths are a historic Ottoman hammam in Bolvadin District of Afyonkarahisar Province in western Anatolia, associated with Grand Vizier Rüstem Paşa, the formidable son-in-law of Suleiman the Magnificent who presided over one of the most extensive construction programs in Ottoman history. Rüstem Paşa's name graces buildings from Istanbul to Edirne — including the exquisite Rüstem Paşa Mosque in Istanbul whose Iznik tile interior is considered a masterpiece — and this hammam in the quiet market town of Bolvadin represents a modest but genuine expression of his extraordinary Anatolian patronage.
