Servet Han Baths

The Servet Han Baths are an Ottoman hammam in the Fatih district of European Istanbul, likely associated with a han or caravanserai that provided lodging and services to merchants and travelers passing through one of the city's busiest commercial quarters. Han-adjacent hammams were common in Ottoman cities, allowing travelers to bathe and refresh themselves after long journeys without having to find a separate bathing establishment. Fatih, the historic heart of the old city built over Byzantine Constantinople, preserves an exceptional density of Ottoman commercial and religious architecture of which the Servet Han Baths form one representative example.
